Being old enough to remember a time when a rotary phone was the only way to communicate (unless you had a ham radio to talk to the truckers on the highway), at the time I couldn’t imagine improving upon the phone. However, by my early teens the new rage in technology was the beeper. You could say that the beeper was the first early form of text messaging, but we could only spell boobs backwards and use codes to inform our friends of something cool (or not) happening. read more »
I ran out of shows to watch on Hulu and scrounged for tv on Netflix, and my last thing to watch was Film School (not the movie, the show). I was watching it in a window off to to the side of working on other projects to have some background noise but it really pulled me in, realizing that the creative process, no matter what the medium, was the same. read more »
Recent construction work in a London subway (aka tube station) revealed advertising posters that have been hiding in there for 50 years. When I saw the photos of all these illustrated ads, using bright colors and simple/direct ideas to communicate a message (yes, just one message!), the effectiveness really struck me. read more »
